FAQ
The philosophy behind the Kasbah du Toubkal
The Kasbah du Toubkal is an extraordinary undertaking, the product of an imaginative Berber and European partnership based on the shared belief that the beauty of the Toubkal National Park should be accessible to all who respect it. To this end, using exclusively traditional techniques, the Kasbah has been transformed from a feudal baron's residence into an award-winning Berber Hospitality Center. A place that offers a variety of accommodations and event possibilities that can satisfy everyone's needs.
What accommodations are offered?
The Kasbah du Toubkal offers 14 rooms, all comfortable and with private bathroom, 3 family rooms including a detached house. The delightful garden and large terraces offer unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains. It is a mix of room types that takes you away from the standard compliance of a hotel, with the opportunity to share stories and experiences with other travelers from around the world, which you'll meet in this little piece of Moroccan paradise.
Location
Kasbah du Toubkal is located in the Toubkal National Park, outside the main road network. From the village of Imlil, footpaths and mule tracks rise through lush irrigated terraces, apple orchards and walnuts, to other villages where the lifestyle has changed little over the centuries and traditional values and hospitality are unaffected by the outside world. The Kasbah is perched on a large rocky outcrop above the main village of Imlil, with panoramic views of the mountains, valleys and waterfalls. It can be reached with a short walk of 15 minutes or with a mule track, always starting from the village of Imlil.
The idea above all
Develop a small Berber hospitality center, designed and built on sustainable principles, which complements the uniqueness of the site and would be of benefit to visitors and local inhabitants. All to protect the Imlil valley from the negative effects of rapid development. Try to ensure that the area was not subject to a tourist monoculture, but devote time and effort to sustainable projects that provide employment. The goal has always been to increase the quality of life while preserving the cultural heritage of the place.
The Berber Team
They did not want to change this exceptional area of Morocco, inhabited by the Berbers, the original inhabitants of North Africa. It has never been doubted, that of highlighting local hospitality and consequently the Kasbah du Toubkal is a Berber hospitality center, managed by Hajj Maurice and Hajja Arkia, a Berber couple from Imlil and their exclusively Berber team.
Activities and Meeting
Kasbah du Toubkal is a magnificent mountain retreat, set in a spectacular location in the heart of the High Atlas. Close to the foot of Jbel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa, it is only 60km from Marrakech, but the peace, tranquility and seclusion are so incredibly amazing that the city feels like a million km away. Ideal for day visits, seminars, long stays or as a starting point for various excursions in the area. Whatever you choose, the Berber teams who run the Kasbah will give you a warm welcome and a fascinating insight into their culture. You can explore the town, the nearby villages and the surrounding mountain landscape, on foot or by mule, or simply relax on the terrace or in the hammam. Kasbah du Toubkal has built an enviable reputation as a conference center for those looking for a place that inspires, one that offers peace and quiet, in a spectacular and remote location, providing the best modern equipment.
When to go
The best time to visit the Atlas Mountains is generally from March to November, although the Snow-free Anti Atlas can be explored during the sunny winter. Summers are hot, but still pleasant compared to the rest of country. Hiking is at the top of the list of things to do in the Atlas Mountains, but don't miss the other experiences with the Berbers and be sure to study the culture before arriving on site._

Sanremo, without ifs and buts!
Those who intend to visit Liguria (Italy) are undoubtedly spoiled for choice regarding the destination to be fully enjoyed. There’s Ventimiglia (near to the French border) which is for the lazy tourist, or Portofino which is synonymous of top luxury, or inland villages such as Dolceacqua and Apricale are catering to people who seek something radically different from the beach resorts, while Albenga provides a good impression of densely atmospheric, medieval Italy.
But of all possible destinations, Sanremo is possibly the most rewarding, not least because it has a little of everything, combining it into an attractive mix and serving it with a unique style and raffish charm. It is as elegant as Cannes or Antibes, but less self-conscious and less stuffy and generally down-to-earth in the typical manner of the Italian Riviera.
Sanremo, once a place where members of the Romanov family and other crowned heads spent their sunset years, may have lost some of its international luster, but Italians still consider it the most “chic” of their domestic resorts. In Italy, the town is famous for its annual Festival di Sanremo (a music festival), a competition whose style and format are said to have served as the blueprint for the Eurovision Song Contest.
There are also many unpricey family restaurants which are not in business to fleece visitors but because their owners actually enjoy the idea of making food and serving it. Moreover there is a great architecture. The building fabric in Sanremo’s Old Town (called La Pigna) may not be, strictly speaking, medieval but the narrow street patterns certainly are and can make you feel claustrophobic enough.
