Location
The Tenne Lodges are roughly 30 km from the border to Austria (Brenner/Brennero) and about 80 km from the capital of South Tyrol, Bolzano/Bozen. All the major cities can be reached by car and train: Meran offers a Mediterranean flair with warm temperatures and the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle; Bozen is the perfect fusion between the Italian lifestyle and South Tyrolean tradition; Brixen surprises with a varied cultural life and beautiful churches. If your main interest is to be in touch with nature, the location of Tenne Lodges is perfect. Closeby you will have the snow-capped peaks, but also the nature trails of the Racines-Giovo valley, all at your fingertips.

What kind of accommodations are offered in?
There are 35 lodges, each with an exquisite chalet feeling, lavish furnishings, lovely pieces as well as balconies with a lovely view. Bathrooms are lavish as well in design with deep soaking tub or spacious showers and bespoke amenities. The end result is newly-created rooms that provide the perfect synergy between grand hotel style and modern Alpine living. It’s incredibly peaceful, almost silent, and the still mountains and ever changing colors of the sky create a multitude of photo-worthy moments. For larger families, there are lodges with separate bedrooms, allowing for Mom and Dad to have a peaceful wing to themselves, while the kids enjoy their new adventures in complete autonomy.

The idea behind Tenne Lodges
This luxury property was born by an idea of architect Martin Gruber and the Rainer-Schölzhorn family, who together built the five-star hotel next to the skiing and hiking area Ratschings-Jaufen. Stone and wood spread in the whole property both inside and outside, with the aim to offer to each Guest an authentic touch of South Tyrolean atmosphere. The design of the Tenne Lodges in combination with the interior décor of property, want to convey the sense of simplicity and freedom, the latter also increased by the landscape surrounding the hotel: the Ratschings mountains, famous to be a great ski area and hiking playground.

The Restaurant
The dining experience is perfectly suited for the stay at the hotel. The traditions and gastronomic style of the Dolomites have influenced the menu of this restaurant. The chef Mike Bräutigam, who previously worked at the three Michelin-starred Gusto in Portugal, uses regional and seasonal ingredients to create delicate dishes, typical of the area, such as risotto with beetroot or rabbit. The aim of the Tenne Lodges restaurant is to give every guest excellent and delicious moments during the dinner.

SPA
The spa is a state of the art wellness and fitness dream. The facilities are exceptional: sauna, pool, treatments and plenty of lounge beds to relax on. You can’t beat going for an energizing swim in the morning then catching the sunrise from the stunning pool. There’s something rather magical about being in the water and watching the pine forests and mountains in the background. This is a spa where you could easily spend a full day relaxing. The surroundings alone have a very meditative and calming effect body and mind.

When to go
The Dolomites are one of the most photographed places in the world. With silver peaks, emerald lakes and green forests, they are so stunning that they cannot be in your bucket list. But is there an ideal time to visit the Dolomites? In winter, all the nature can be freezes over and all is a still cold white! The sun is low and only peaks through the summits for a few hours a day. Beyond skiing, ice skating is also popular in lakes during the winter months. Maybe spring could be defined as one of the best seasons to visit the Dolomites. Mainly due to the fact that the hordes of visitors have not yet arrived and this beauty can be admired in peace and silence. The colors are starting to awaken with only a few specks of white remaining and the surroundings are magnificent.

Discovering Racines

Have you ever heard of Racines? If you are a winter sports lover you should know it. Valle di Racines is a small valley located in South Tyrol. Starting from Stanghe it passes through the main village Colle and ends in quite Valletina. In this area there are many places of tourist interest. Here are some examples:

1) Castel Wolfsthurn in Mareta, a baroque castle with 365 windows, located on a hill. Inside it is hosted the Regional Museum of Hunting and Fishing;

2) Cascate di Stanghe, the only gorge in Europe carved into the marble;

3) The 7 lakes of Val Ridanna, with crystal clear waters, all surrounded by an amazing alpine scenery that leaves you breathless.
